What to Expect During an ADHD Evaluation
An ADHD evaluation is more than a conversation about difficulty concentrating. At Stepping Points Psychiatry, we take a comprehensive approach to understanding how attention, organization, impulsivity, and other symptoms affect your daily life.
During your evaluation, your psychiatric provider will review your current concerns, developmental history, medical and mental health history, and how your symptoms affect school, work, relationships, or daily responsibilities.
Your evaluation may also include standardized ADHD screening questionnaires and a review of conditions that can cause similar symptoms, including anxiety, depression, sleep disorders, and other medical concerns.
If ADHD is diagnosed, we will discuss treatment options based on your individual needs. Recommendations may include medication management, behavioral strategies, therapy, and coordination with other healthcare professionals.
Our goal is to provide a thoughtful, individualized evaluation so you can better understand your symptoms and make informed decisions about your care.
